Basic Design Seminar

In Journalism 1, before I start the yearbook unit with graphic design. I have a graphic design terms quizlet then turn to Robin Williams’ Non-Designer’s Design book. As a fun project, after going through the book and teaching CRAP, I have them create a design project in Canva for “Jim Pickle’s Pet Store.” Using Canva is easier than diving into InDesign.

Yearbook Planning

-Group photo are scheduled

-Yearbook Cover is submitted and proof is approved

-Obtained the official student population count for page 1

-Received portraits from photographer and had students proof names before flowing on pages

-Working on senior ad proofs
