Promote Yourself

Journalism 1

Today, I broke down paragraph by paragraph about how to write a feature story. I use a UIL prompt to select facts/quotes to use. I’ve attached the outline I use.

Keys things

  • Creative lead that catches attention
  • Newspeg with a future event – written as concisely as possible
  • Quote feelings and emotions
  • Use facts in transition to introduce the person about to be quoted
  • Third person only

Behind the Scenes

Today, we replaced large “rasterbated” photos throughout the school. https://rasterbator.net is a great tool to enlarge photos. We hang them in 8.5×11 plastic sleeves and hang them throughout the school. We are sure to include a “photo by” with our logo and student news site.
